Theory, practice, performance: The core of Ithaca College
Founded by a homesick violinist with a big vision, Ithaca College is a place for you to come home to yourself. The Ithaca experience is about alumni who’ve walked the gritty path toward Pulitzers and concertos, Broadway and Hollywood, Sierra Club and Wall Street, realizing exactly who they are. From hiking boots to high heels, from business proposals to protest signs, from tattoos and pink hair to power suits, IC is where students bring their passions to make a difference across continents and right in their hometowns.
Ithaca College is a global destination for scholars in a music-infused college town of art studios, ice cream shops, and world-famous restaurants that thrives on the energy of students. Our campus is known for its environmental stewardship (100% of the campus’s electricity is sourced from wind farms) and social conscience (an IC staff member founded International Pronouns Day).
Our private residential college isn’t designed just to provide a place to eat, sleep, study, and play (and climb those hills). We work in a progressive atmosphere devoted to forging strong, truly diverse communities with a deep awareness of and connectedness to the greater world. Ithaca is a place to absorb and learn from it all: that tricky assignment, the nature trail waiting for you to wander it, that dance performance that leaves you out of breath just watching it, those distant but looming exams, or that post that got your blood boiling. Ithaca is a learning environment all about growth. It’s a place where you’ll find meaning and people who really get you as well as opportunities to better encounter (and learn from!) those who don’t.
Ithaca College draws talented and driven students looking to find, face, and be themselves.
