Your Onward and Upward Await
We're here to work
Bloomsburg University was founded on the belief that opportunity is created by those determined to achieve more. And because our graduates make a difference from their first day on the job, employers put a high value on a Bloomsburg degree—and the people who earned them.
Founded in 1839, the University was built on the vision that higher education should be available to anyone who is ready to work for a better life. Today, that tradition continues with limitless opportunities for our students across the Commonwealth and beyond. Bloomsburg University is an inclusive comprehensive public university that prepares students for personal and professional success in an increasingly complex global environment.
Preparing for success in a complex world
As the largest comprehensive university in Northeastern and Northcentral Pennsylvania, BU offers 57 undergraduate degree programs with more than 66 minors and 19 graduate degree programs, along with the experiences and technology to give students the best possible preparation for careers in their field. An alumni base of more than 72,000 enables students to network throughout eastern US and beyond. Students also have opportunities to study abroad in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
You’ll feel right at home
Our 366-acre campus includes seven residence halls, three apartment buildings, one suite-style high rise, 14 places to grab a meal, and countless ways to feel right at home. At the foot of campus, the town of Bloomsburg offers an ever-expanding array of dining, entertainment, lodging, and shopping options for every need and taste. The nearby Susquehanna River plays host to endless outdoor fun, such as biking, hiking, and boating.
