Bolster it with service learning integrated into your courses—along with volunteer and mission opportunities each year—at the University of Indianapolis, a private university located just a few minutes from downtown Indianapolis. More occupational therapists, physical therapists, and clinical psychologists graduate from the University of Indianapolis each year than any other institution in Indiana.
Health care programs at UIndy are known for leading-edge curricula at all degree levels that consistently rank among the top in the state, with high passing rates on state licensing exams. UIndy’s “Education for Service” motto is deeply embedded in our health care curriculum. Students will find service learning components in many of our courses, along with a variety of volunteer and mission opportunities.
The new state-of-the-art Health Pavilion houses all the health programs at UIndy and connects students, faculty, staff, and community members with access to new technologies, research, and procedures within local hospital networks. Home to the University’s nationally respected academic programs in Athletic Training, Gerontology, Kinesiology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, and Social Work, the Health Pavilion also features health and physical therapy clinics and the University’s Psychological Services Center.
Thanks to a first-of-its-kind partnership with the local Community Health Network, students in health care programs at UIndy can gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields under the supervision of professionals and faculty at the on-site rehab center and therapy gym, physical therapy clinic, and primary care clinic as well as the psychological services center. All of these offer the opportunity for on-campus clinical experiences while providing services to UIndy employees and students as well as the public.
UIndy’s College of Health Sciences offers nationally ranked programs within the Krannert School of Physical Therapy and the School of Occupational Therapy, as well as highly regarded programs in Athletic Training, Gerontology, Kinesiology, and other health professions, preparing students for a wide variety of health- and sports-related professions. The College is distinguished through rigorous academics, research, applied learning in clinical settings, and highly competitive internships.
